Advanced Evaluation and Advocacy Techniques - How to use Evaluation and Advocacy to strengthen support for your projects
A workshop on evaluation and advocacy from a world class evaluator, Delwyn Goodrick.
Advocacy is a key role for Community Psychologists, and for those that identify opportunities to support social justice through their work in evaluation and in practice. This workshop explores the dimensions of advocacy, and the opportunities and challenges for Psychologists in using research and evaluation as a basis for advocacy. Two key questions will be addressed, Does advocacy weaken the credibility of an evaluation? How can an explicit values based support good evaluation?
The workshop will be jointly facilitated by Emma Sampson and Delwyn Goodrick. They will draw on learnings from an advocacy research project they have been working on in Victoria, and from the literature. The workshop will provide an opportunity for discussion of the benefits and risks of advocacy evaluation.
Delwyn is a psychologist who undertakes program evaluation and social research with a wide range of government and private sector clients.
